Love, time and fool's gold

"Let the beauty of what you love be what you do." (- Rumi -)

I enjoy beauty, whenever i can. Sometimes my perception change and a wave of everlasting beauty appear to manifest all around me. A flower's smell, a ray of sunshine, or just a cat rolling around can make me happy.

There is all this talk about love and how love conquer everything. I am not calling this BS, but seem that beauty is easy to manifest and replicate in your own being, but love, love is infinitely more difficult. Maybe i was not used to love enough, maybe i do not recognize the real love. I love little, and i know that.

So, in response to this matter, not love, but beauty is my religion. I can just see God as infinite beauty, and not defined by any name.

If you were to choose, what would you choose? Beauty of Love?

Quote of the day

"You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts it will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely."
- Roald Dahl -

Is this true? Our society is more than ever insisting in abnormal, impossible ideals of beauty, which often are not even true (Photoshop anyone?). Even the men, but especially the women are targeted by media and impressed with models that want to be skinny and gracious. But this is not always true. The ideal of external beauty is changing through the centuries, and couple of hundred years ago the ideal it was the voluptuous, fatty kind of woman. Small hips versus big hips. Generous bust versus small bust. There are many ideals of beauty, possible and impossible. And i will not start to talk about the male one, sculpted body, with six-packed abs (which can be obtained by everyone, given the time, training, diet and motivation). But even as we look at the entertainment industry (i know, i know, the bar lowered a bit too much), we are longing for the Uomo universalis ideal of Renaissance. What the heck, we live in a society which believe that beauty and intelligence in the same time is almost impossible. How did we get here? What changed? It is the fault of our education system, or is just the daily bombardment on advertising? In this run after our desires, we keep forgetting to take a peak inside of people, to see that pearl hiding within. Try it, today look around and talk with others, until you find something fascinating in the other person.

Training, beauty and healing yourself

"Developing inner values is much like physical exercise. The more we train our abilities, the stronger they become. The difference is that, unlike the body, when it comes to training the mind, there is no limit to how far we can go."
- Dalai Lama -

Training and evolving to a better version of yourself, physically, emotionally and mentally, this is one of the duty we have to ourselves. And, how it is brilliantly pointed in this quote, unlike the physical part, the mind has no limits in becoming greater and faster. One year passed by, another will start soon. Choose a plan on how to improve yourself. And follow it.

"Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words."
- Robert Frost -

Beauty will leave a mark on our soul. A flutter of white sparkle, and one idea is resurrecting to the surface, becoming a phrase, a beautiful lining of words, creating the same feeling, like a mirror, in somebody else's soul. This is poetry.

"Artists strive to free this true and spontaneous self in their work. Creativity, meditation are ways of freeing an inner voice."
- Gloria Steinem -

And one Christmas story, to finish on a lighthearted note. About a singer who lost her voice due to an incurable disease, and the hope that end up bringing her voice back. Click here for the video.

About beauty, patterns and earthscape

There are people that are connected to something bigger then their own person. And simplicity enriches the soul. What is art? Is this related to permanence, or all that we need is to feel that our inner child is still alive?

Become the bliss, and let it go. Transcend your limits. Stop your mind. And be happy. Just be. BE!
