Coronavirus self-isolation

I have always wondered how retirement early could feel, in terms of doing different things and having all the time in the world. Apparently, my wish was granted, under stranger than life circumstances. I was sent home for 12 weeks, and i am being paid, so this can be like a test for my future early retirement plans.

The conditions are not optimal, the market seems to sink faster than Titanic, but i have 3 months to fill up. We will see what is next.

The link for my journal is here.

And if you, like me, hate the fact that the gym is closed, this is my alternative for training at home (link). The website is quite good, and they also got phone apps for weight training, training at home, running and nutrition. I started 64 months ago to train with them, and they keep improving.

See you soon.

  1. Hi George, I would like to ask concerning coronavirus, which vitamin supplements should I take to boost my imunite system? I wanted to start to eat fish oil and then I found that it is bad for lung recovery https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2709305/
I think you wrote something about vitamins and minerals. I considered zinc, but too much zinc is also not good although zinc has positive impact on imunity.
Maybe I should eat more honey and apples :-) not multivitamines. What do you think?
Thank you for your answer in advance.

  2. a normal diet is fine, with maybe up to 70% veg and fruit, and also up to 70% alkaline food. Hydration is important, drink enough as proper drinking is very efficient in fever and flu, and this is similar with flu. If you have enough fresh fruit and veg no supplementation is needed. Honey is a good choice.

  3. Thank you very much because a lot of people eat vitamin supplements nowadays. They overdo with vitamins. It is funny you wrote a book on vitamins and told me a normal diet is fine :-) but what is good when you don´t have so much fruit and vegetables at home because of self isolation? I am happy I don´t have a symptoms of coronovirus yet fortunately. I am doing some research to find out what is best. Maybe honey is a good choice.
I wish you a lot of health, thank you for your blog.

  4. If it is an emergency cans of fruits and jams are also alright. Not as good, but they will do it.

  5. Thanks, I am taking only magnesium, I read two books about it and it really helped me when I had cramps after sleeping.
I was bored so I also read the Trachtenberg method of speed mathematics. It is from Jakow Trachtenberg He was imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp during World War II. He developed his system of mental arithmetic during his imprisonment. Did you hear about it? According to studies mental math is good for your health, I read something about isolatation in space missions.
I don´t have coronavirus yet, I am so happy and grateful. I hope you are healthy too.

  6. i am fine at the moment. I will go to study Guitar and learn Spanish these days. If you know about the impact of the brain upon learning and instrument and the same similar changes when you learn another language.

  7. Learning another language or coding or learning an instrument are also good choices. At least there exist on the internet so many ways to challenge your brain from easiest excercises to extremely difficult. I love internet and communicating with different people. But when there maybe will be electrical outage, I will always have a calculator to excercise my mental math and you will always have your guitar :-).
Have a nice day and sometimes write to me what is new :-).
