Question of the day?

If your child will be a prodigy, and one university will accept him at 11, will you let him go or will you just let him to do all the classes as any normal child?

My answer is: I will not agree with this, maybe with up to 2 hours weekly under my supervision, but i will still want him/her to enjoy childhood, it will have the rest of life to study more if needed.

You?

  1. Interesting question. If my child were a prodigy I would let him or her to decide on his own what he/she wants to do. If he/she wants to stay in primary school I will not force him to go to university. I will only want special educational programme for him/her. I will do it with the help of psychologists or other specialists to help him/her. Perhaps I will ask for help Elon Musk who has a school for this children in America. It is a school without the traditional grade structure, with the goal of catering to students’ aptitudes not by arbitrary schedules but in real time, and using problem-solving methods to teach critical thinking. He/she would have then children in his own age to develop friendship with. Or with some money I will establish a school for my child and children who are in the same situation like him/her. And of course I will try not to push him so hard to enjoy his childhood.
