Daily advice, stress and flow, give and take, save everyone (including the cheerleader)

"The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance."
- Alan Watts -

It is like a Tai Chi move, a water type kung-fu, a way to keep your flow even in the direst need. You should try it, and you will be surprised. Because, as we already learned, stress means resistance to the way the events happen around us. The opposite of stress is flow. Learn how to ride the wave, and you will become more than an expert, you will master that skill.

"You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you."
- John Bunyan -

This is even more than my daily ritual of random acts of kindness. This will imply observance, intuition and compassion. You need to become proactive, to find the perfect recipient of your benevolence. It is the next step. And in doing this every day, you will start to change. To glow and laugh, to smile and give, to have plentiful of resources there where before was none.

"Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does. "
- William James -

It is all about our daily habits. Buy local, invest in renewable and fair-trade products. Eat organic, Live as a minimalist. Recover and use again, avoiding waste. It is not about one singular effort. It is about being a model, and changing others without trying. The biggest heroes are always unsung. Nobody knows what they did, but they saved the planet many times over. Become one of them .

Quote of the day

"Peace cannot be achieved through violence, it can only be attained through understanding."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson -

It is known. From many, many years, but some of us still live for the ancient 'eye for an eye'. Even if i remember somebody saying that one humanity looking for an eye for an eye will end up with a world full of blind people. Understanding conflicts is difficult. You need to get immersed trough a whole culture or two, to learn about the past mistakes and the future hopes. You need to think about what you are doing. You need to wake up. That why most of the times the schools, the writers or the teachers are the main targets in a conflict. Because, for the ones gaining something from a war, they are fully aware that words are more powerful than bullets. We've seen that often, not many years ago, the final blow to some totalitarian regime was not done by a mighty army, but by a 12 years girl talking about it around the world. And the examples are many. Let's get in touch with our hippie side, and for a moment try to be love, not war.

Good night.

Quote of the day

"The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul."
- Elder Uchtdorf -

We all want to be remembered, and no one want to be remembered as a bad person. We all have dreams, and we see ourselves as creators, being that writers, painters or movie makers. We want to do something great, to put our heart on a plate, for everyone to see it. Some of this efforts are only children play, some are more serious.

I will give you homework. For the next 7 days, do a paint or a draw (the bigger the better), write one poetry and one short story. After all these tasks, observe yourself and see what you feel regarding yourself. Good luck.

Quote of the day

"In every community, there is work to be done. In every nation, there are wounds to heal. In every heart, there is the power to do it."
- Marianne Williamson -

We are divided. By race, by religion, by political beliefs, by place of birth, by gender, by physical and mental health, by our wage level. So many things, objects and beliefs to create a rift between us and Others. Every late news seems to focus on this. Brexit, Trump, meeting and anti-meetings, Russia, China, fall of the Ashanti Empire. Some of them are familiar to us, some of them not. We cannot analyse and learn about everything. Or can we? But this is not the main question today.

How we gonna heal the rift that is separating us from everybody else? Listen to this song, and maybe you will be inspired.

Quote of the day

"I hope you will go out and let stories happen to you, and that you will work them, water them with your blood and tears and you laughter till they bloom, till you yourself burst into bloom."
- Clarissa Pinkola Estes -

I will start with a complain. Modern stories are not satisfying me. They are just twisting and redecorating the old myths, legends and fairy-tales. The children of today will see a movie and accept it as reality, before learn to read the classics. We are guided and teached their way of the story, without asking questions, without seeing the other half of the tale. We know what happened five minutes ago in a small town from Italy or on a Californian beach, but we do not have the time to listed to our old neighbour telling us about how they managed to stay alive in the WW2, in London. We are informed globally, but we will be underdeveloped emotionally. We forget to look inside. To stop for a moment and admire the Moon reflection in the lake, or to listed to that morning birdsong in a lazy Sunday. We are pushed out of the body, but this is not an experience, it is a way of life. Go further than that. Create your own stories, live a life worthy to be shared with your nieces and nephews. Go outside. Go inside. Just go.

Quote of the day

"Trust is the glue of life...It's the foundational principle that holds all relationships."
- Stephen Covey -

Trust is alive and changing. It is a living organism, taking different shapes and meanings, according to that specific era. In our grandparents' time, they trusted banks and an employer whom will give you a job for life. In the times we live right here and now, we stopped trusting banks and employers, but we become more trustful in other ways. Airbnb and Uber, and many other ideas, all successful because we learned how to trust a stranger. We are evolving, slowly, despite the general distrust and separation that is actively promoted in the media. We became part of the humanity.

Quote of the day

"A little magic can take you a long way."
- Roald Dahl -

Awe - one underrated emotion, with the potential to change our lives and to bring greatness, happiness, stability and timeless fuzzy warming sensations in the heart area.

Awe - that moment when the mind stops and we are really looking around, instead of watching with a lifeless-like expression, our attention deep inside following a horde of stressful thoughts.

What you can do? Bring a bit of magic in somebody else's life, do the unexpected and make them to fall in awe. A scrumptious cake for a neighbour, her favorite book left on top of her shoes, a nice new toy for a poor child. The only limit is the one set by your imagination. Try it today and observe what others and yourself feel during those special moments.

EnJOY !

Focus and habit, power and light

"The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new."
- Dan Millman -

Some will say that it is easier to destroy than to create. But when we are talking about habits, good or bad, the reinforcement is the problem. Fighting against is much more dangerous than creating the opposite good habit. Building the new will work in your favor if you try to get rid of some bad habit. The less you keep the problem in your mind, the faster will fade away. The more you focus on it, the stronger will be. Remember that.

"When sleeping women wake, mountains move."
- Chinese Proverb -

Just think about suffragettes, the moms whom do not like a teacher at the local college or the modern feminists. There is something there, deep inside, an enormous energy waiting for you to tap in. You can be a star and shine eternally, as a woman who embrace her inner beauty and power. Start now.

"Real freedom begins with obedience to a higher influence -- a higher, finer energy within oneself."
- Jacob Needleman -

Who are you? Are you your left hand, or the right one? Are you your left leg, or the right one? All these are yours, but are not you. Are you your head? Your ears? Your eyes? Are you your body or this is it yours? Are you your pain, your happiness, your thoughts? Who are you really? You know who you aren't, but this powerful inner self is somehow elusive. Even though, you still need to tune in and reach your full potential. Brighter than thousand suns. Yes. That's you.

Quote of the day

“Those who are determined to be ‘offended’ will discover a provocation somewhere. We cannot possibly adjust enough to please the fanatics, and it is degrading to make the attempt.”
― Christopher Hitchens

I couldn't find better words myself. Because if someone is unhappy, he or she will project their own unhappiness outside. The only way to avoid the conflict is to not take it personal and get to their level. Stay where you are, and be happy with your life, even if this is one 'rara avis' these days. Especially because of this.

* rara avis = latin term for a rare bird, something similar with the actual concept of black swam.

Excellence as a skill, love for all others and the forest as your medic

"Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. "
- Aristotle -

You may agree with me. You may not. But the latest researches in the field of enhancing performance and replication of excellence confirmed what we, on some subconscious level, always new. Excellence is not entirely related to genetics or luck. Excellence is a skill and we can learn how to train it. Wait no more. Start searching the internet, start reading and analyzing various categories of information available to you. Strengthen your weaknesses and maximize your strengths. There is a time to shine and be th best version of the imperfect you, and that time is now.

"Our job is to love others without stopping to inquire whether or not they are worthy. That is not our business and, in fact, it is nobody's business. What we are asked to do is to love, and this love itself will render both ourselves and our neighbors worthy."
- Thomas Merton -

In becoming experts in various fields, we will meet some people looking at us with envy or even hate. Do not take it personal. You are not here to save the world, if you are not able to save yourself first. You cannot force others to be happy, but you can learn how to be happy yourself. Continue with your random act of kindness, even anonymously, if the serpent of pride will try to intervene along your own path. Be good, love everyone and learn from everyone.

My gift for you today - watch this movie. Learn how the forest heals you.

Smiling to the angels, to do lists and family trees

"How slight a nod it would take, how bare a smile, to give everyone you meet today a sense of worth."
- Robert Brault -

They say that even the angels like to hide in a smile. And you will never now how one little push in the right direction will change someone's day. We are so often too stressed, too engaged in our inner discussions to notice the other world, the other people, wandering aimlessly around us. Because, in my opinion, when i know what to do and i follow my goal, everyone around me seems to follow their goals. When i lay waiting, everyone else is waiting. I am my own planet, my own world. Did you like astronomy when you where little?

"Believe what your heart tells you when you ask, "does this spark joy?"
- Marie Kondo -

This is a manifesto against the to-do-list. If you are making a list, put on it only the things and actions what make you wonder, fly high or sing. Look at your list and be excited, as any item written on that piece of paper is a 'Heck, yeah!!!'. Be effective, as ineffective task lists will kill our soul little by little, will make us to feel guilty and powerless. Be a creator, and improvise, reaching to depths you never knew, inside of your heart. Sing a praise to your own life, be grateful and keep going. Keep giving. And, if you are really, really lucky, you will look behind at the end of the day and you will say: Another day living in paradise. The paradise that i created for me.

"We are the meeting point of our ancestors and descendants. The track leading from the past, and the road heading off into the future, are joined, here and now, with us."
- Anthony Murphy -

We are limitless, not limited. We are the tipping point, and many generations before us tried their best for us to be where we are now, in this moment. We need to add our personal efforts, in order to ensure that the ones following us will live even better, even happier that us. We are only a link in our family chain. Nor the weakest, not the strongest. Merely another one, to be added to the past efforts. Do your duty, and remember that humanity is your family too, a bigger one, but yours nevertheless. Step into the light of your own kind and powerful actions.
